SUDOKU experts please…?
Calling the attention of sudoku puzzle games fans out there. Can you please share your approach on how to complete the board? I do know the mechanics of the game and I usually can fill out all boxes however i'm having a really hard time to figure out which number to fill out for a should-be "prospect" box in the marathon puzzle. Is that really hard? How do you answer a marathon type or the "hard" category of sudoku?
it all depends on which way you look at the numbers.
1. apparently, a popular method is to list all the numbers which could go into a box, and then cancel the numbers out with the information you have. this way is the most simple technique, but it also takes the most time.
2. i use three different methods in my approach. the first i do is to try to get a single number in all nine boxes by seeing where the places are available. if that does not give me enough options, i see which numbers are missing in individual 9 boxes. once i exhaust those numbers, i look into each individual row and column and see how i can cancel them out. that is usually the easiest method to getting numbers, because you can use the larger boxes to cancel out number locations.
then i go through the cycle again and fill in any new openings.
my method is kind of confusing, but it works very quickly.
3. it all depends on your strengths. if you have a very good memory, you can do the first method listed without writing down the numbers. that is the quickest method out there, as you narrow down numbers very easily.
if you can spare the time to try a difficult puzzle, i would think the first method is the best. once you master that one, try the memory method.
in other words, anyone can do sudoku puzzles on a high level, it just takes a lot of patience, experience, and improvement.
